When I was little, I never understood why Mom got upset with me for washing the bathroom mirror for her. After all, I must have been a big help; her list of tasks instantly decreased by one.
Meaghan has recently started helping out around the house, without my asking for this help. The other day I noticed the mirror looked, well, the worst it's ever looked. Meaghan, however, was simply gleeful with her efforts at cleaning the already clean mirror.
I get Mom's reaction now. Fortunately, I managed to keep those thoughts to myself and instead congratulated Meaghan on her initiative.
