I'm going to become a better photographer, but that will only happen with lots of practice. Today I tried to get some good bokeh - blurry backgrounds - using some tree ornaments. This is not my favourite ornament, but it is the best photo I got today.
No wonder bokeh is used so much at Christmas; there really is something quite magical about blurry lights in the background.
